Sacramento, CA - No Gi Jiu-Jitsu
Kaizen Jiu Jitsu
Build skill and confidence, get in shape, and make new friends one small step at a time at Kaizen Jiu Jitsu.
Here’s Why More People Are Choosing Jiu-Jitsu
BJJ teaches you how to stay calm, take control, and protect yourself in real-world situations — no matter the size of your opponent.
Why Adults Choose Jiu-Jitsu Classes
- Real World Self-Defense: Learn how to control and neutralize an opponent without relying on size or strength — using leverage, positioning, and technique that actually work outside the gym.
- Get in Shape Without Getting Bored: Every class challenges your body and mind — building strength, endurance, and mobility while keeping training engaging and addictive.
- Stress Relief That Actually Works: Step on the mat and everything else fades. BJJ forces focus, clears your mind, and leaves you feeling reset after every session.
- A Community That Has Your Back: You’re not training alone — you’re part of a team that supports, challenges, and grows together.
Why Parents Choose Jiu-Jitsu for Their Kids
- Confidence That Shows Up Everywhere: Kids gain real confidence by solving problems on the mat — not just being told they’re doing a good job.
- Focus & Discipline Without Forcing It: BJJ naturally teaches patience, listening, and self-control — skills that carry into school and home life.
- Safe, Controlled Self-Defense Skills: Your child learns how to handle conflict without panic — using technique, not aggression.
- A Positive, Structured Environment: Surrounded by coaches and teammates who support their growth, kids stay engaged, active, and excited to come back.
- Build Real Friendships: Through teamwork and partner drills, kids learn how to connect, support others, and feel comfortable in social settings.

I could not recommend Kaizen Jiu Jitsu enough, especially for women. Going to a new gym let alone trying out a new sport as an adult can be a little intimidating — but the Coach here does a great job of making you feel welcomed and a part of the class. Super good vibes from everyone I drilled and rolled with, everyone is ready to help you learn and is focused.
Not to mention the building itself is great, it stays super cool with that big fan. This Jiu Jitsu gym is really a hidden little gem in Sacramento. Excited to come back to the next class and train!!

recently attended an open‑mat session at Kaizen Jiu Jitsu in Sacramento and had a fantastic experience. Even though open mats are usually unstructured, the coach took the time to offer valuable instruction and guidance. The academy’s philosophy of steady, continuous improvement really comes through; they aim to build skill and confidence through focused training and emphasize techniques that work in real‑world situations.
The atmosphere was welcoming to visitors—everyone treated me with respect and the coach made sure we trained hard but safely.
If you’re in Sacramento and looking for a no‑gi gym where you can get quality feedback even during open‑mat sessions, Kaizen Jiu Jitsu is a great choice.

Gibran is a fantastic coach. I love learning from him because he understands the body mechanics behind a technique, so he can explain why and how it works. He also takes a personal interest in every one of his students; brand new or advanced. He pays attention to each student’s style and knows how to push each individual to improve based on their unique strengths. In my experience, Gibran’s mats are a great place to make friends too.

A welcoming, mindful, and focused learning environment.
I joined a few months ago with no martial arts background. I’m encouraged, and reminded that everybody there started off as a beginner too. Everyone’s kindness and enthusiasm for the sport makes the gym inviting.
The gym is accommodating and accepting of needs. If you have preexisting injuries, are extra sore that day, just had a a long day at work, etc, they’ll work with you. I’ve had all the above and was met with options to meaningfully participate and learn in my condition.
The learning environment is focused and intentional. I leave every class knowing I’ve learned/developed. I feel what’s really worked for me is that I’m given individual guidance on how to grow through manageable and incremental steps. Additionally, knowing my individual needs/safety are considered lets me push myself without any anxiety.
I highly recommend training here
