Built for your first day

A beginning
that makes sense.

Learn what to do, why it works, and what comes next. A manageable introduction to a skill you can keep building for years.

12 semi-private classes

Build into resistance

Start with cooperative practice, then explore focused positional rounds with coaching.

Make new friends

Start with other brand-new students. Learn each other’s names, help each other improve, and make new friends along the way.

A path to keep going

Finish with a foundation for regular classes and a clearer sense of where to focus next.

Kaizen means getting a little better.
That’s where we start.

Learn with the Kaizen coaching team. Our approach connects wrestling, positions, and clear decisions so each lesson has a purpose.

You don’t have to figure everything out on day one. Show up, learn something useful, and build on it next time.

Before you step on the mats

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Will I be the only beginner?

No. Everyone in this program is brand new together. You’ll start with the same foundations, practice alongside other beginners, and have room to ask questions.

Do I need to be in shape first?

No. Start at your current fitness level and build gradually. Let your coach know about any limitations so you can discuss appropriate adjustments.

What should I wear?

A fitted athletic shirt or rashguard and shorts without pockets, zippers, or exposed hardware. Bring water, remove jewelry, and arrive clean with trimmed nails.

Will I have to spar on my first day?

The course starts with movement and partner practice, then builds toward controlled positional rounds. You’ll learn how to tap and communicate with your partner before adding resistance.

What happens at the free orientation?

Meet the coaches, see the gym, observe a class, and get comfortable in the space.

What if I miss a class or travel over the holidays?

Optional Saturday makeups are November 21 and December 5, 12, and 19 at 11 a.m. No makeup November 28 or December 26. November 25 and December 23 are scheduled class days.

What happens after six weeks?

You can discuss continuing into Kaizen’s regular classes. The current unlimited membership is $150 per month and would be a separate enrollment.
